10 Natural Hair Masks

Pampering yourself with expensive hair spa treatments at a salon is a great idea! But what if you could do the same in the comfort of your own home? Here are some nourishing hair masks you can make using inexpensive things lying around your house.

Olive Oil and Avocado

Mash a couple of avocados and mix them with olive oil. Apply it, starting from your dry scalp to the strand ends. Leave it on for 15 minutes and rinse, to leave your hair super-nourished.

Banana Smoothie

Whip up a hair mask by mixing a banana, honey(3 tbsp), olive oil (5 tbsp), milk (3 tbsp) and 1 egg. Leave it on for about 15 minutes and rinse to see the effects.

Eggs

Whisk a cup of eggs and put it on your damp hair. The egg yolks, being rich in protein, moisturize your hair, while the egg whites help in removing unwanted oils.

Mayonnaise

Put on some mayonnaise and seal it with a shower cap for about 20 minutes. This deeply conditions your hair, leaving it silky and smooth.

Milk and Honey

Add a tbsp of honey to half a cup of milk. Apply it and leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse your hair to see  it turn soft and silky.

Aloe Vera

This hair mask is the ideal remedy for an itchy, dry scalp. The natural enzymes in aloe remove the dead scalp cells and help in maintaining the ph levels of the scalp.

Strawberries

Make a hair mask by putting some strawberries, olive oil and eggs in a food processor. Massage your head with the mixture and wash it off for smooth, shiny hair.

Yogurt

Spread about 10 oz of plain yogurt on your damp hair and leave it on for about 20 minutes. The lactic acid helps in removing dirt and grime, while the milk moisturizes your hair.

Banana and Almond

Add a couple of drops of almond oil to a mashed banana. Massage some of the mixture onto your hair and leave it on for 20-25 minutes. Wash your hair and watch it turn healthy and moisturized.

Coconut Cream

Massage your hair and scalp with coconut cream and wrap a hot towel around your head. After an hour, wash it off with a mild shampoo. This is especially good for damaged hair as it is very nourishing.

With these masks, you will have smooth and healthy hair in no time.
